Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to all your lash questions

Will lash extensions make my natural lashes fall out?

No. Lash extensions do not damage your natural lashes. Irresponsible lash techs damage your natural lashes. When applied correctly, lash extensions will grow out with your natural lash and will shed appropriately.

Do lash extensions hurt?

No, they do not hurt when applied correctly. They are applied with professional tools by isolating one lash and adhering one extension to your natural lashes.

How do lash extensions feel?

If applied correctly, your extensions will be indistinguishable from your normal lashes. They are extremely light weight and you will forget you are even wearing them.

Do lash extensions look fake?

Eyelash extensions can be applied to look anyway you desire, from very natural, to very extravagant.

  • Please keep in mind that the extension must be applied to an existing eyelash. If you have sparse natural lashes, you can still get a beautiful set of lashes, but they may not be as full or dark as someone with a very full lash line. It is important you speak with your lash artist about your desired look and that a realistic goal is set forth.
How often should I get my lashes filled?

I highly recommend a refill every 1.5-2.5 weeks in order to keep your lashes looking full and beautiful.

  • The average person has between 90-120 natural lashes per eye. Each eye can shed between 2-3 lashes a day. (This is normal. Just like the hair on our head)
    • 1 week = 21 lashes gone
    • 2 weeks = 42 lashes gone
    • 3 weeks = 63 lashes gone

This is why fills should be done regularly!

Can I wear mascara with my extensions?

It is highly recommend that you do not wear mascara or heavy eye makeup with your extensions. This can cause dirt and oil buildup around the base of your extensions, breaking down the bond between the extension and the natural lash. Makeup and moisturizes should always be oil free.

How can I cleanse my lashes?

On your first visit, I will give you a lash brush to cleanse your lashes. You can buy a cleanser from me or purchase one on your own. However, it is imperative that you clean your lashes with a cleanser specifically designed for lash extensions.

  • 1 pump of cleanser on each eye
    • Cleanse the lashes by taking the lash brush gently, but thoroughly, from root to tip on the top side and bottom side of the lash.
    • Rinse thoroughly with luke warm water
    • Gently pat dry
    • Let your lashes air dry or dry them with the cool setting of your blow dryer
    • Brush your lashes once they are completely dry
      • Do NOT brush your lashes at any time when they are wet
How should I prepare for my lash service?

Please come with freshly cleansed lashes, makeup free, moisturizer free and with no products on the face. Please be prepared to lie still for an extended amount of time without the use of your phone, or conversation.

How do I care for my new extensions?
  • Do not get your lashes wet, subject them to sweat, tears, heat or steam for the first 24 hours to allow the lash adhesive to completely cure.
  • Sleep on your back
  • Do not rub your eyes )avoid touching your eyes all together.)
  • Keep your lashes brushed
  • Do not use an eyelash curler
  • Avoid all oil-based makeup products, including mascara and eye makeup remover.
  • Avoid wearing excessive eye makeup
  • Do not visit saunas or steam rooms frequently
  • CLEANSE YOUR LASHES EVERY SINGLE DAY.
